Create inviting outdoor spaces that support business and community.

The Outdoor Spaces Grant (OSG) helps businesses offset the cost of outdoor improvements that expand customer space and activate Baltimore’s commercial corridors.

Overview

The Outdoor Spaces Grant supports projects that improve outdoor business spaces and encourage vibrant, active streetscapes.

Funding helps businesses create welcoming outdoor environments that contribute to neighborhood vitality and improve the customer experience.

All grants are reimbursement-based and require approval before work begins. Grant awards are subject to available funding and are made at the sole discretion of BDC.

Eligible Improvements

Funding may be available for improvements such as:

Outdoor seating
Parklets
Landscaping
Lighting
Other approved outdoor features

Projects should expand a business’s use of outdoor space while contributing to Baltimore’s public realm.

Applicants should:

Review the program’s eligibility requirements.
Meet with a BDC representative at the project site before submitting an application.
Wait for grant approval before beginning any work.

Important: Work completed before grant approval is not eligible for reimbursement.
