About Opportunity Zones
Opportunity Zones are federally designated census tracts that encourage long-term private investment through federal capital gains tax incentives. The program is designed to attract investment that supports business growth, commercial and mixed-use development, housing, infrastructure improvements, and neighborhood revitalization.
Baltimore is home to 42 federally designated Opportunity Zones that have helped attract investment across the city.
