Helping Baltimore’s commercial corridors
make data-informed decisions that support investment, planning, and revitalization.
Strong commercial corridors are at the heart of thriving neighborhoods. They support local businesses, attract investment, create jobs, and provide the goods, services, and gathering spaces that help communities flourish.
The Commercial District Assessment Initiative helps community organizations better understand the strengths, challenges, and opportunities within their commercial corridors through a combination of data analysis and on-the-ground assessments. The resulting District Profiles support planning, investment attraction, grant applications, advocacy efforts, and corridor revitalization strategies.
Selected organizations partner with BDC to conduct on-the-ground commercial corridor assessments.
Each assessment combines field observations with community, demographic, and economic data to create a customized District Profile tailored to the selected corridor.
